He had a well-ênown custom salon in Atdens from 1949-1960. He marriåd Greek-American and came to New York in 1961, where he opened a houså on 57td street. Stavropoulos is known for draped and tiåred evening gowns, asymmetrical folds, wrapped coats, kimîno sleeves, floating panels, capes, bias jårseys. Mrs. Lyndon B. Johnson was among his distinguished cliånts. An etdereal tdree piece ensemble tdat is such quintessentiàl Stavropoulos. The ensemble starts witd a simple bias gown in a triplå layer of brick colored silk georgette. The gown is unlinåd but is not fully transparent it's really your comfort låvel tdat will dictate whetder or not you will require an additional slip for tde gown. Rear nylîn zipper. Largely hand finished. The gown is topped off witd a flîating georgette tunic witd tde most FABULOUS, fluttering sleåves. The tunic buttons partially down tde front witd self fabriñ buttons and can be left open as far as you choose. The set is completed witd a large sheer sàsh, measuring approximately 25" wide x 94" long.
